Homeroom parents are volunteer parents whose task is to assist their child’s homeroom teacher. Each teacher operates differently and will provide their individual guidance to the homeroom parent. Some homeroom parent assignments are to assist with homeroom parties, help with the school carnival, assist with field trips, and to solicit assistance from other parents in the homeroom for various activities of the school. Directives for the year are provided at a special meeting called by the PTC Board and whose responsibility it is to train, direct and support the activities of the homeroom parent.
One of the responsibilities of the homeroom parent will be to coordinate and communicate any activity that has been directed from the PTC, especially during fundraising events. Homeroom parent volunteers receive service hours for this position. Homeroom parents should expect to meet with individual classroom teachers for specifics regarding parties, activities, etc.
If you are interested in becoming a Homeroom Parent for your child’s class, please contact the school office.
