In the second grade, the students will be enriched daily with a Catholic education.
In Language, students will engage in supported comprehensive activities including writing, decoding and spelling exercises.
Readers will actively engage with test and build their own understanding with guided reading, self selected, writing and working with vocabulary.
Their math activities will include knowledge of relative size of numbers and how they are put together, a proficiency in the basic skills, the use of visual and spatial skills, a variety of techniques and tools with the ability to solve word problems.
In Science, students will be taught through a variety of methods including predicting, classifying, comparing, observing and inquiry experiences.
Social Studies skills will look at patterns around us, changes affecting us and systems in our government and ecosystems.
In Art, the students will acquire an appreciation of techniques and processes through drawing, painting, and construction of projects to produce successful products.
The curriculum will provide extensive opportunities for al students to develop an understanding and mastery of skills to succeed in their future education and the real world.
